Rachel, originally from Antigonish, Nova Scotia, joined the Quadra Legal Centre in August of 2019.
Rachel graduated from the Schulich School of Law at Dalhousie University with a J.D. in 2015. Rachel was called to the bar in Nova Scotia in 2016 and began her family law career in Halifax.
Prior to law school, Rachel studied mathematics at Mount Allison University, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in 2012. During her undergraduate degree, she performed research for several years at the Centre for Logic and Information at St. Francis Xavier University. Rachel has a passion for public speaking and was an active member of the competitive debating circuit throughout her university career. Rachel has a military spouse and she relocated from Halifax to Kingston, Ontario to continue her family law practice as a member of the Ontario bar.
Moving to Victoria, BC has seen Rachel called to another Bar, the BC Bar. Rachel is a member of the Law Society of British Columbia, the Nova Scotia Barristers’ Society, and the Canadian Bar Association. Rachel has served as a member of the Board of Directors and Secretary of the Women’s Legal Mentorship Program and as a lawyer supervisor for Pro Bono Students Canada.
Rachel is thrilled be practicing family law at Quadra Legal Centre and is enjoying discovering all that west coast living has to offer. When she is not exploring Victoria and the island, Rachel, a jazz aficionado, also enjoys playing the flute and piano.
